After a rocky start Overwatch 2 is getting more stable as time progresses. With time we thought the game was going to make progress. But yet again we are facing problems with anothe DPS character Mei who was removed or in other words disabled from Overwatch 2.

Mei Overwatch 2:

Mei is a Chinese cryo-scientist with a collection of tools for changing the weather. She was formerly a researcher who has joined Winston to assist Overwatch in addressing the new challenges the world is facing. She is a climatologist who, after emerging from a decade-long cryostasis sleep, is on her own quest to protect the environment and ecosystem.

Mei’s weather-changing equipment slows enemies and defends areas. She can Cryo-Freeze herself to defend against counterattacks, fire destructive icicles and frost streams with her Endothermic Blaster, and use an Ice Wall to hinder the enemy team’s movement.

Why Was Mei Removed From Overwatch 2?

Mei was removed or disabled from Overwatch 2 because of her ability of Ice Wall. So far, as we have seen in the game the problems/bugs aren’t with the heroes themselves but rather with their abilities. It’s as if the abilities weren’t given much thought before introducing them to the game according to their maps.

So anyways, as you have already read, players used Ice Wall to throw their opponents to weird locations. Although, it doesn’t seem as if you could abuse this bug as hard as Torbjorn or Bastion’s abillities. But you could still go over the wall to shoot your opponents unexpectedly. Players found this bug earlier. But the reports for it have increased significantly now. We hope you have found your answer to where is Mei in Overwatch 2 by now.

When Will Mei Return?

Blizzard will bring Mei back most probably in the next patch on November 15, 2022. But it may be with another update or patch just like for Bastion and Torbjorn. Until then, all we can say is you have to wait for another patch. And Blizzard’s first priority would be to resolve the bug with Mei. Until then, you won’t be able to play Mei as a DPS in competitive.
