According to a report by Esports Charts, the PMGC 2022 Viewership reached a high viewership of over 851K, surpassing the 2021 PMGC (646K) milestone but falling short of the 2020 edition (3.8 million). Interestingly, the most concurrent viewers were present for the most recent championship match.

The $4 million prize pool event known as the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), which features 51 international sides, ends on January 8. The League Stage ($2.5 million) and Grand Finals ($1.5 million) of the annual mega tournament were both finished on December 4. Turkey’s S2G Esports team won the elusive prize.

It’s also important to note that on the last day of PMGC, the viewing graph grew. For the first time in the competition, the second match of the day played on the Miramar map, had over 700K concurrent views. The third match attracted over 726K viewers. Over 27 million hours were seen, with an average of 2,72,758 people.
The Grand Finals were broadcasted live on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Tik Tok in 14 different languages. Three well-known Indonesian celebrities performed live at the venue on Days 2 and 3 of the event, which was hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Most people watched the tournament’s broadcast in Indonesian, making it the most widely used language during the PUBG Mobile event. YouTube continued to be the most used streaming platform during the tournament.
DRS Gaming from Nepal earned second place by grabbing the audience’s attention with an unexpected performance. Alpha 7 of Brazil also had a successful event, placing third overall.
The global champions for 2020 and 2021, Nova Esports, however, fell short of expectations. On the other side, GodLike Stalwart and IHC Esports made an incredible comeback to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.
It was also revealed during the Grand Finals that the PUBG Mobile World Invitational, which will take place in July in Riyadh, KSA, will be the first international competition of 2023. Turkey will host the fourth season of the Global Championship. Later this year, it will be fascinating to see how many spectators these activities attract.
