This is an article about the Sculk Sensor that appears in Minecraft. It also explains the range and conditions that the Sculk sensor can detect, and simple usage examples from the signal strength. A Sculk sensor is a block that emits a Redstone signal when it senses ambient sound or vibration. For example, it senses the sound of players and animals walking, the sound of placing or breaking blocks, the sound of arrow projectiles, and so on.
When they are detected within the range of the Sculk sensor, a Redstone signal is transmitted for about 2 seconds, and various circuits are activated. Unlike buttons and levers, the Skull Sensor can activate Redstone from a distance.
How to Get a Sculk Sensor in Minecraft?
The way to get the skull sensor is to collect the one generated in the deep dark (deep_dark) implemented by the wild update. Deep dark is a biome available deep underground (Y = 0 or less as a guide). When collecting the Skull Sensor, be careful as it will not be unless you break it with a tool with the enchantment “Silk Touch”. Any tool with a silk touch is recoverable. But a Morus alba destroys immediately.
Range
The range detected by the Sculk sensor is up to 8 squares centered on the Sculk sensor as shown in the following image. In addition, there is a limit to the height. And it is detectable if the height is within 7 squares.
Cut the perception with wool
The Sculk sensor can detect any block between the sound source and the Sculk sensor without any problem. However, if the block put between them is wool. The condition for being cut by wool is that the wool is put between the generated sound or vibration and the skull sensor.
In addition, the skull sensor cannot detect the sound of installing the wool block and the sound of walking (running, landing, etc.) on the wool block.
Skull sensor signal strength
Please note that the properties of the Sculk sensor differ greatly depending on whether it is a direct connection to a circuit. When the Sculk sensor and the Redstone circuit contain a direct connection, the strength of the Redstone signal changes. And it depends on the location of the sensed sound and the distance between the Sculk sensor.
The closer you are to the Sculk sensor, the stronger the signal, and when you make a noise on the Sculk sensor, it emits the largest redstone signal. The range of the Sculk sensor and the strength of the redstone signal is available. (Common to integrated version and Java version). Also, the signal on the Sculk sensor has a maximum strength of 15.
