Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) confirms that AESF will be the exclusive organizer of the ‘Road To Asian Games’ program. Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) will host regional qualifiers under the ‘Road To Asian Games’ program.
This news comes with the reconfirmation that Asian Electronic Sports Federation takes all the decisions related to eSports. OCA confirms that AESF will be the sole Technical Delegate at Asian Games for conducting esports events. AESF will select the esports titles for Asian Games, which will be implanted in the regional qualifying competition. They will make the final confirmation on the selected titles for Asian Games with the OCA.
As an exclusive organizer of the qualifiers program for the Asian Games, AESF will finalize the tournament structure. They will be responsible for all eSports events which will take place at the Asian Games. This campaign will begin with the Hangzhou 2022, where AESF will continue as the exclusive organizer for all upcoming Asian Games.

What We Know So Far: eSports in Asian Games
Dr Husain AHZ Al-Musallam, Director General of Olympic Council of Asia, commented on this partnership,
“It is a great pleasure to officially announce our partnership between OCA and AESF for the new esports program for our Asian Games and OCA will provide full support for successful esports events at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. We wish the best to our partner AESF on the journey ahead.”
Kenneth Fok, President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation, added
“I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous support and trust from the OCA. I believe that the Asian Games presents the best stage for us to share Olympic Values with the esports community and we aim to make our esports communities develop further through this opportunity. Also, we look forward to a successful collaboration with OCA as well as LOC.”
Esports will make its debut as an official medal sport at Hangzhou 2022. Moreover, the Asian Electronic Sports Federation is planning to make virtual and simulating online events for the ‘Road To Asian Games’ program. In the final competition, it will be a demonstration event that will encourage esports globally.
Hopefully, people will recognize the console, computer or mobile eSports as game events. Nevertheless, the event will reaffirm that eSports also deserve an equal amount of attention & respect.
