As the Valorant Champions 2022 tournament draws nearer, all 16 worldwide competitors are preparing to compete for the champion title. This will be the second time these teams have battled it out in a Riot Games-organized tournament, and they are all determined to come out on top.

The 16 best teams from the regular season and Last Chance Qualifiers will face off in September at the Valorant Champions event. In December 2020, Ascend was named world champion of Valorant for the first time. However, with Riot’s partnership model, this year’s tournament may provide a significant shift. As his team tries to defend their title, Turkey’s star Jett player Mehmet Yağz “cNed” İpek will be worth watching out for.

VCT Champions

The Valorant Champions 2022 is an international tournament that will feature eight teams who have qualified by earning circuit points in regional and Masters games.

Given that last year’s tournament had over a million viewers, the Valorant Champions 2022 is expected to be even more successful than its predecessor due to fewer restrictions on live audiences, making it one of the most popular esports events of next year.

The last six groups have just been selected for the Valorant Last Chance Tournament in 2022. The top eight teams from the tournament will advance to the Valorant Master’s event, which will take place in Iceland from June 2nd-5th, 2022.

1. Optic Gaming

With their recent triumph in the Ignition Series: North America event, OpTic Gaming has firmly established itself as the world’s best Valorant team. This is a noteworthy accomplishment, given that they must compete against other excellent North American groups such as TSM and Cloud9.

2. XSET

XSET was all accomplished by defeating competitor after competition at the Masters: Copenhagen tournament. In the end, XSET won 3-2 after both teams had taken turns winning games throughout the series.

3. FunPlus Phoenix

The newest VCT Masters champions are the One Stop Shop, which was founded in 2016 and has had a rough road to qualify for 2022.

The team’s only goal is to reach the Valorant Champions Tour Masters event. They have displayed remarkable fortitude in the face of challenges, and if they can maintain the same level of play, they stand a good chance of qualifying for the event.

4. Fnatic

As one of the most consistent teams in the EMEA region, Fnatic quickly enters the IEM Katowice tournament. The team is looking to make a strong showing and prove that they are still one of the best teams in the world.

As one of the world’s top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams, Fnatic is no stranger to competition. Hailing from the EMEA region, they have consistently dominated tournaments for years. However, their recent qualifier performance for the IEM Katowice tournament has shown that they are still at the top of their game and poised for another victory.

5. Loud In Valorant Champions

LOUD has only lost three matches in the whole year. Unfortunately, they had a lousy showing in Copenhagen, and their Brazilian supporters will be hoping for improved performance at Valorant Champions Tour 2022. Nevertheless, LOUD’s remarkable run this year puts them in a solid position to compete for the championship.

However, they’ll face tough opposition in their opening matchup against FURY, an up-and-coming squad that could surprise some people. If LOUD wants to win this tournament, it will require significant effort.

6. Leviatan

After their impressive performance in Copenhagen, LATAM’s very own Leviatán will attend the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational in Istanbul. With skilled players and amazing teamwork, Leviatán could shake up the tournament as a dark horse team.

7. DRX

Although they are not the favorites, DRX should not be underestimated at the Valorant Champions 2022. They hail from South Korea and the best team in all of the land. But they have a lineup full to the brim with talented players who know Valorant like the backs of their hands. With that said, anything can happen in this tournament. So make sure to keep tabs on DRX during it if you can.

8. Zeta Division In Valorant Champions

After a series of defeats, Northeption will be looking to redeem themselves. And they want to prove their previous success wasn’t simply a fluke. Kojwi “Laz” Ushida and his team will be looking to establish their performance on the VCT Japan Stage 2. Where they beat, ZETA DIVISION was not a fluke when they competed in Copenhagen during the Group Stage.
