Former Evil Geniuses assistant coach, Tony “Zikz” Gray, is set to become the head coach of 100 Thieves’ Valorant roster. This marks a return to the organization where Zikz coached the League of Legends LCS roster in 2020 and the 2021 Spring Split.

Zikz’s Impressive Run with Evil Geniuses

Zikz’s coaching stock is currently at its peak following his role as an assistant coach with Evil Geniuses during their world championship run. Both head coach Christine “potter” Chi and several members of the EG team publicly praised Zikz for his contributions. His experience and success in the competitive Valorant scene make him a valuable addition to 100 Thieves.

In the 100 Thieves’ official announcement video, Zikz expressed his confidence in the 100T 2024 VALORANT roster. He believes that the team has the potential to compete at the highest level and contend for championship titles. This optimism sets high expectations for the organization’s upcoming VALORANT campaigns.

Mikes Returns as Assistant Coach of 100 Thieves Valorant

Michael “Mikes” Hockom, who served as the head coach for 100 Thieves during the 2023 VCT Americas season, will continue with the organization as an assistant coach. Mikes had previously occupied this role when former head coach Sean Gares transitioned to a full-time content creator. The coaching duo of Zikz and Mikes will aim to lead 100 Thieves to better results than their previous season, where they fell short of playoff success.

Challenges Ahead for 100 Thieves Valorant

The 100 Thieves Valorant team faced challenges in the 2023 season, missing the playoffs in VCT Americas and experiencing an early exit in the LCQ. As they prepare for the upcoming VCT 2024 season, the organization is still finalizing its roster. Reports suggest that 100 Thieves’ offer to bring in Kelden “Boostio” Pupello, another former EG member, was declined by EG.

Despite these obstacles, 100 Thieves Valorant is gearing up for competitive action as they are set to compete in Red Bull Home Ground 4, scheduled to begin in November. With Zikz at the helm and an optimistic outlook, 100 Thieves aims to make a significant impact in the VALORANT esports scene in the upcoming season.
