Apple and Google Play Store both have removed Fortnite Mobile from their app stores in 2020. All of this happened because Epic Games’ set a pathway through, which users were able to facilitate direct in-app purchases. However, due to this step of Epic Games’ developers, the 30 percent benefit of Apple and Google Play Store went directly into the pockets of Fortnite developers.
Fortnite: What Happened to the Fortnite Mobile?
This leads to a direct violation of the rules. Also, as we know there are 125 million Fornite Mobile players. So, a large chunk of revenue went to the Fortnite Mobile developers. After all, no one is ready for such a big loss. As a result, both the companies jointly removed Fortnite Mobile from their app stores.
So, now Apple and Google Play Store users can no longer enjoy Fortnite games on their devices. But still, Android users can avail themselves of the game via the Epic Games app. Samsung users can get the game from Samsung Galaxy Store.
Google’s say regarding the whole situation is “The open Android ecosystem lets developers distribute apps through multiple app stores. For game developers who choose to use the Play Store, we have consistent policies that are fair to developers and keep the store safe for users.
While Fortnite remains available on Android, we can no longer make it available on Play because it violates our policies. However, we welcome the opportunity to continue our discussions with Epic and bring Fortnite back to Google Play.”
Players are eager to know when the mobile version is coming back to both of these platforms. But still, there is no information regarding the comeback of Fortnite in the smartphone gaming scene. So, let us hope they will soon fix up their issue and Fortnite Mobile will be again available for the users.
