After intense fights, Team 4 Thrives Esports emerged on the top of the leaderboard with 56 points, followed by Team Alpha7 Esports and Team DRX in 2nd and 3rd positions with 55 points and 54 points, respectively. Narrow margins at the top indicate the insane competition level.
The first day of the PUBG Mobile World Cup PMWC 2025 at the Esports World Cup (EWC) was on 25th July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the start of the Group Stage. With the world’s best 24 PUBG Mobile teams competing for a part of the $3 million prize pool. Day 1 delivered six action-packed matches between Group Red and Group Yellow across fan-favorite maps like Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok.
On Day 1 all teams showed impressive performance; several teams, like 4 Thrives Esports, Alpha7 Esports, and Team DRX, dominated the battlefield and secured top positions. Day 1 was filled with memorable clutches and strategic rotations, showing an intense competitive environment.
PMWC 2025 Day 1: Match Highlights
Day 1 Match – 1
The teams participating in PMWC started the day in Sanhok. Team DRX from Brazil won the match and secured the 1st position with 19 points. Team Yangon Galacticos dominated the battlefield and secured 2nd position with 14 elimination points and 19 total points. In third position was Team Vision with 14 points.
Day 1 Match – 2
Team Alpha7 Esports from Thailand won the 2nd match in Erangel and secured 1st position with 20 points. Team 4Thrives Esports obtained second position with 15 points. Team Secret acquired 3rd position with 15 points.
Day 1 Match – 3
Team 4Thrives Esports from Japan won the match in Erangel and acquired the 1st position with 24 points, followed by Team Horaa Esports and Team Influence Rage in 2nd and 3rd positions with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Day 1 Match – 4
Team DRX from China acquired the chicken dinner in Erangel and secured the 1st position with 18 points. In second position was Team Weibo Gaming with 16 points. In third position was Team Secret with 10 points.
Day 1 Match – 5
Team Alpha7 Esports from China won the match played in Miramar and secured the 1st position with 29 points. Team Weibo Gaming acquired 2nd position with 14 points. Team 4Thrives Esports obtained 3rd position with 8 points.
Day 1 Match – 6
The last match of the day was played in Miramar, and Team Regnum Carya Esports took the win and obtained the 1st position with 18 points, followed by Team Secret and Team DRX Gaming in 2nd and 3rd positions with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
PMWC 2025 Day 1: Overall Standings
The amazing gameplay by Team 4Thrives Esports helped them obtain the 1st position with 56 points. Team Alpha 7 Esports acquired two wins and second position with 55 points. Team DRX obtained two wins and the third position with an amazing 29 elimination points and 54 total points.
Team Secret secured the 4th position with 50 points, followed by Team Regnum Carya Esports and Team Yangon Galacticos in 5th and 6th positions with 42 points each. While some teams established their dominance on day 1, teams like AxTMG and Falcons struggled to score more points.
PMWC 2025 Day 2: Check Details
With the end of Day 1, all teams proved that they were worthy of the slot given to them. Some teams secured the top positions, while other teams need to change their strategies and accumulate even more points on Day 2. With only 8 teams out of 24 teams advancing to Grand Finals directly from the Group Stage, every point earned from eliminations or placement is very important.
