Teabagging is one of the worst things you can do to any esport player. And now once again, teabagging has started to make rounds. And this time with the game Apex Legends.
What Is Teabagging?
Players standing over an opponent’s dead body and continually crouching their character over the corpse is known as “teabagging” in multiplayer video games. It imitates a sexual act in which a person touches their genitalia to their consenting partner’s face.
Apex Legends player Dilly was banned permanently from “Fate Legion” after he allegedly teabagged his teammate. Even though teabagging was not ruled out in the game rules.
How Did The Incident End?
The admin of the game witnessed Dilly teabagging his teammate’s death box and immediately decided to ban the entire team. However, according to the admin, this action was taken to make the game safer and cleaner for other players. And this was an unprofessional approach. Also, it will send a negative message to the aspiring Apex Legends players.
After the team realized that Dilly has teabagged his teammate. They tried to convince the admin claiming that it was just a joke and nothing serious. But the admin decided to stick to his ruling and banned the team from the entire tournament. And even shut down the entire tournament server.
However, Dilly was not happy with the verdict and said that there were no rules specified beforehand regarding teabagging. And that rule was made on the spot by the admin. Also that the team was not only banned from a single match but the entire series.
General mocking and mild absurdity are common in competitive esports games. But this is one of the rarest instances where an entire team has been banned from the entire tournament. Just for having fun and mocking their teammates.
