The Indian governmentโs decision to prohibit PUBG Mobile and other similar applications has been strongly criticized by gamers. Many believe that the governmentโs actions are unjustified, given that other apps such as TikTok and WeChat have not been prohibited. BGMI Banโs Aware Of
Following the abrupt removal of BGMI from Google Play and the App Store, thereโs been a lot of excitement in the gaming community. A high-ranking official at MEITY recently spoke to News 18. Stating that several organizations studied the game before submitting their findings to the Indian government. The Indian government reportedly ordered Google and Apple to remove Battlegrounds Mobile India from their online marketplaces.
According to a report from the official, Battlegrounds Mobile India contained dangerous code and required several crucial permissions to operate on a userโs device. These codes might modify stored data and use it for surveillance in an adversarial manner by tampering with it. According to the report, the game violated the Indian IT Act and was a national security risk.
However, likely, the game will not be allowed to go live in India. The official said that BGMI is a rehashed version of PUBG Mobile, which has already been banned. He emphasized that numerous Chinese apps were relabeled and repackaged as โold wine in a new bottleโ in India. These applications, however, were unable to establish servers in the nation.
The official went on to talk about rebranding, stating that it is frequently a failure. He claimed that many Chinese software companies have attempted to change their names for the Indian market, but have failed due to a lack of understanding of the nationโs culture and consumers.
Kraftonโs Statement
Krafton is making all efforts to bring Player Unknownโs Battlegrounds (PUBG) to Indian gamers. Krafton Indiaโs CEO, Sean Hyun Sohn, has issued a statement in which he discusses the companyโs dedication to promoting esports and gaming in India.
According to Mr. Chaturvedi, Krafton has always been concerned with the privacy and security of its customersโ data, and since the start, the firm has followed all regulations in India (including data security laws). He also stated that Krafton would continue to make significant investments in data security technology to safeguard its usersโ information.
In the aftermath of the data breach in PUBG Mobile, which is owned by Krafton. Hyunil Sohnโs statement has emerged. It is assumed that the intruders were able to steal personal information from over 20 million players.
