Luminosity Gaming is now moving away from Valorant esports, and it is a huge shock for a lot of fans and even its players. The squad is even set to play in the Week 4 of Valorant Champions Tour Stage 2 Challengers, which is a tough note, to begin with.

The roster for the said competition will still be under the Luminosity banner until further notice. This also means that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the squad. Experts say that it will affect their overall performance in the coming games, especially with a huge challenge en route to the deeper stages of the contest.

Luminosity Gaming Valorant sits at 2-1 in the VCT Challengers. They are one of the top teams who are expected to make it to the playoffs with just two more matches left in the group stage. Their chemistry has been unbreakable like the focus of bettors on Casino Days, which means that they have been a really tight group before the sudden decision made by the organization.

Since January 2022, Luminosity has been making a lot of noise in their games and they have done a great job to bring a lot of success to the table. This is why it has been a piece of big news for the fans and players themselves as their future now hangs in the balance until further notice.

Luminosity’s legacy in Valorant

The lineup for Luminosity is considered a star power. The likes of Kaleb ‘moose’ Jayne, Will ‘dazzLe’ Loafman, Tanner ‘TiGG’ Spanu, Adam ‘mada’ Pampuch, and Brandon Michael ‘bdog’ Sanders are known to be elites in the game. With the guidance of head coach Jared ‘mac’ Schneider, the team became one of the toughest teams to beat in Valorant.

The team has been around since August 2020 and won a few titles but is yet to come up with a chance at the big international events. Success has been a common thing for this squad, but not everyone was ready for the big move that Luminosity Gaming Valorant just pulled off in the middle of a key tournament.

This looks like an unfinished business for the squad after the strings of success they have seen in the past few months. That was not part of the plan and no one can deny the fact that they could have enjoyed it at a much bigger level if they had a team to play for all the way to the finish.

Luminosity’s plans for the future

Luminosity’s hiatus from Valorant is for the ‘foreseeable future’. In an official statement, the team thanked its squad for their efforts in making a good run towards the big success in Valorant but is also unclear about their plans for the coming months.

‘Luminosity remains passionate about esports and we aim to continue to compete for championships in every esport that we participate in, the organization said in an official statement. ‘Exiting Valorant is not an easy decision for us, we look forward to Riot’s upcoming structure for 2023 and we do not rule out the opportunity to participate in Valorant esports again down the road’.

The decision came after there were talks of Riot Games discussing the partnership system for 2023. The North American, Brazilian, and Latin American leagues will have eight to 10 teams that will receive a direct invite next year. This means that teams will have to apply for a chance to become the direct partner for Riot in the next few months.

The future of the roster

There is no denying that the squad faces a lot of uncertainty in the coming months. However, the players and the staff of the team are all keen to move together as one in a new team rather than to go home and part ways as restricted free agents.

‘Keeping our roster AND staff together is incredibly important to us, and vital to the long-term success of this team’, players moose and dazzLe said on their social media sites. They stressed the importance of having a team that will give them all they need in the future is the key to their sustained overall success.

Those esports fans who play at Casino Days will be surprised to see that Luminosity is now looking for a new home to take them in with their banner. This says a lot about the chances of the squad with still a few more games left to play in the VCT Challengers as well.
