PMWC 2025 Tournament Format:

PMWC 2025 has a groundbreaking new format that further increases the risks and challenges and ensures only the most skilled and durable teams make it through. The competition is divided into three phases:
Group Stage (July 25-27)
The initial round will have the 24 qualified teams split into three groups of eight. During three days, there will be a series of tough fights, with each group having a total of 12 games. The top eight teams competing at this stage will be awarded a direct invitation to the Grand Finals, skipping the next stage.
Survival Stage (July 29-30)
For the 16 teams that failed to qualify in the Group Stage, the Survival Stage is a lifeline. The teams will fight hard for two days, and 12 games will decide their fate. The top eight teams of this pressurized stage take the remaining positions in the Grand Finals, finalizing the list of the 16 finalists.
Grand Finals (August 1-3)
The 16 best teams from the previous rounds will compete in the Grand Final. The final stage will last for three days, with 18 matches to prove themselves. A fresh twist in competition and excitement, the Grand Finals will be played under the SMASH Rule.
The SMASH Rule Explained:
Under the SMASH Rule, teams would first need to reach a match point minimum. This is done by adding 10 points to the leading team’s score after Day 2 of the Grand Finals. Once beyond this match point, a team would then need to win a match to be crowned champions. If no team reaches these requirements after all 18 scheduled matches, the team with the highest total points will be crowned champion. The new rule is designed to promote aggressive gameplay and unexpected conclusions and make every match count.
