How to Play Android Games in PC: A Complete Stepwise Guide

Smartphone games are still a long way from competing with gaming consoles and PCs. However, things are improving as an excess of top-notch games are published every year. In fact, I’d much rather use a keyboard, mouse, or joystick in place of a touchscreen when playing some of these more recent games. Fortunately, it is possible to play Android games on a PC!

Using an emulator is the most effective method for doing this. There are a few options even though the options are rather limited. While Windows 11 is planned to offer native Android emulation to PCs, emulators are your best chance in the interim. Let’s dive in and quickly review three of these emulators so you can play Android games on your PC.

Ways to play mobiles games on PC:

BlueStacks:

Bluestacks was one of the first Android emulators I used to play Apps and games on my PC a few years ago. It is still one of the greatest solutions today, with the most recent version, Bluestacks 5, released in 2021, becoming even better.

To begin, simply download and install Bluestacks from the website. Bluestacks 5 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and has a beta option with Android Pie for apps that require newer versions of Android. Before you recoil in horror at how old that default Android version is, remember that it’s pretty recent in terms of these kinds of emulators. The good news is that most programs and games should work without any issues on either system. If so, switching to the Pie beta ought to solve the problem.

Nox Player:

Nox Player, which has features comparable to those of Bluestacks, is often regarded as an excellent substitute. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat and enables Google Play Store game and app downloads.

Simply download the emulator from the Nox Player website and install it to begin playing games on your PC. The Nox Player UI is comparable to that of an older Android tablet. The screen opens with certain “pre-installed” apps and navigation buttons (back, home, and recent apps) in the bottom right corner. The Google Play Store may be found in the “Tools” folder, and after logging in using your Google account, you can download anything else.

Gameloop:

Gameloop, formerly Tencent Gaming Buddy, began out as the official PUBG Mobile emulator. Since PUBG Mobile is a mobile adaptation of the original PC game, this may appear perplexing. However, the former is also free, so some users can have the best of both worlds with this emulator. Nevertheless, Gameloop offers a tonne of additional functionality.

Just download and install the emulator, as I said before. You are welcomed with a Game Center that has a number of top-notch games, similar to Bluestacks. Of course, PUBG Mobile is promoted given the firm that created it. FPS, MOBA, and strategy games are also widely available, though.

Popular options like Whatsapp, Instagram, Youtube, and others are available in the app section. The Google Play Store, however, is not conveniently located. To install it via Google Installer, you must navigate to the “My Games” tab. The “non-Gameloop” tag is present on all games and applications you download from the Play Store.

Which emulator is the best?

If you want to play Android games on your PC, all three emulators—Bluestacks 5, Nox Player, and Gameloop—are great choices. None of them are ideal, however, I would recommend Bluestacks or MSI App Player for most programs and games. Its “smart control” presets are the best of the bunch and made starting a game right away incredibly simple.

But if you want to play Tencent titles like PUBG Mobile or Call of Duty Mobile, Gameloop is by far your best bet. Naturally, keep in mind that depending on the type of PC you use, your experience can change.
