The Genshin Impact new update has welcomed a fresh roster of characters from the Inazuma region, and one character who has been eagerly anticipated is Gorou. As a member of the resistance against the vision hunt, Gorou’s character has quickly piqued the interest of players with his easy-going nature. He is depicted as someone who speaks his mind and deeply cares for his companions. Kazuha, a fellow character in the game, praises Gorou for sharing both the ups and downs with his subordinates, willing to go to great lengths for the sake of friendship.

Gorou’s Unveiling and Abilities
Gorou possesses a unique character design, with distinctive fox ears and a bushy tail, similar to the character Diona. He is a Geo user who wields a bow, a combination that is rather uncommon in the game. Players can also look forward to obtaining his signature weapon, the “Dreams of Dragonfell,” a part of the same weapon series that includes popular options like the Summit Shaper, The Unforged, Vortex Vanquisher, and the Memory of Dust.
The livestream for Genshin Impact 2.3 provided a sneak peek into Gorou’s abilities:
- Normal Attack (Fight Club Legend): Gorou can perform up to four consecutive strikes. His charged attack allows players to unleash Arataki Kesagiri slashes without depleting stamina. He can also execute a plunging attack to damage foes along the path and deal area-of-effect damage upon impact.
- Elemental Skill (Inuzaka All-Round Defence): He uses his Elemental Skill to deliver area-of-effect Geo damage and place a General’s War-Banner on the ground. The banner’s effects vary based on the number of Geo characters in the party. With one Geo character, it grants a defence bonus; with two, it provides resistance to interruption, and with three Geo characters, it bestows a Geo damage bonus. These effects stack when all three conditions are met.
- Elemental Burst (Juuga – Forward unto Victory): When using his Elemental Burst, Gorou initiates an area-of-effect Geo attack and generates a special field known as General’s Glory. This field enhances the abilities of Geo party members and continuously spawns Crystal Collapses every 1.5 seconds, dealing area-of-effect damage.
Gorou Banner Release Date
Gorou officially joined the Genshin Impact roster on December 14, 2021, during the 2.3 update. Players had the opportunity to obtain Gorou through Itto’s banner, known as “Oni’s Royale,” in the second banner phase of the Genshin Impact 2.3 update.
