Fireboy and Watergirl is a platformer that sets you up to travel through a variety of obstacle courses. The game is available to be played on a web browser, so that players need not download any unnecessary files or applications.

However, there will be two characters that players need to take until the end, and they need to work together in order to clear the rounds. The controls are relatively simple. You can control Fireboy using the arrow keys on your keyboard and Watergirl can be controlled using the WASD keys. You can move left and right using the side keys and use the top key to jump over obstacles. The end goal of each level is for both the players to go through their doors at the top of the level.
The two characters means that two players can play the game at the same time for optimal gameplay. But you can also play solo but you need to be very adept at controlling two characters at once. There are some quirks like buttons and platforms that need both the characters to work together in order to clear them.
Players will also encounter several pools. You can only go into red pools with Fireboy and blue pools with Watergirl. Messing this up will end up in defeat. You can also similarly get only red diamonds using Fireboy and Blue diamonds using Watergirl.
There will also be buttons that open certain doors or operate lifts. This operation requires one character to push down on the button while the other can clear it and push down a button for the other character to clear it. Combining the efforts of both the characters is key to clearing the levels in Fireboy and Watergirl.
