Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will be the first expansion that the game will get after years, and according to rumors there will be a complete overhaul to the Skill Tree. This new release seeks to change a lot of things, including new characters, areas, missions, and other major gameplay tweaks.
The Phantom Liberty Expansion is a massive overhaul to the whole game, to mitigate some of the damages caused by its original release. As we all know, Cyberpunk 2077’s release was a disaster due to the poor condition of the game. Faith fell from CD Projekt Red, but they have been making continuous efforts to improve the game. The expansion seems to be their next step forward in giving players the true Cyberpunk experience.

The new expansion will feature a brand new Skill Tree formula, where the primary, secondary and ultimate nodes are separated. From a Reddit leak, we can see that players need to fill in their Primary nodes with skill points, which will unlock the Secondary skill, and so on.

However, the exact mechanic behind the Skill Tree is currently under cover but we can speculate quite a bit. Primary nodes might unlock skills or passives and putting more points in it will enhance the effect. Secondary nodes will most likely include a bigger bonus to the upgrade plus an extra skill that is significantly better than the primary nodes. The last tier in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is the Legendary node, which will unlock incredible skills.
Players will have to pick a certain skill tree that they want to maximize, in order to unlock the Legendary node. This is all speculation but it is a given that Skill trees will feature some of the old Skills as well. The new expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing this year on 26th September 2023, so you can expect some more leaks soon.
