BGMI not only provides PUBG Mobile fans in the country with a replacement game, but it has also helped revitalize content creation and provide opportunities for many aspiring esports athletes.

The re-release of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was a relief for dedicated PUBG Mobile fans in India. After the game was banned back in September 2020, many people were concerned that they would never be able to play it again.

BGMI’s Ban Affect Players And Content Producers

The popularity of PUBG Mobile has prompted several mobile gaming companies in India to offer their versions. Due to the game’s enormous success, many Indian gamers have flocked to imitators such as Kinguin, which hosted its tournament for the first time.

In addition to providing players with hours of fun, BGMI’s debut also helped reignite India’s PUBG Mobile esports industry. This opened up a can of worms for content producers, who may now create amusing videos for a big audience after BGMI seeded them with free advertisement space on Facebook and YouTube.

Following the announcement of Battlegrounds Mobile India’s suspension, numerous content providers posted on social media their disappointment. However, the most common responses were about the difficult times that lay ahead for esports in general, with many urging gamers to move to alternative well-known games.

The ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India has been a body blow to content creators in the country who base their work around the game. While regular players can still access and play the game, those whose livelihood comes from streaming or making videos related to it have lost their incomes practically overnight.

Reason

This has had a detrimental effect on their livelihoods, since many rely on Battlegrounds Mobile India for their income. The lack of clarity from Krafton about the game’s future has only exacerbated content producers’ frustrations.

The Government of India has concerned itself with the safety hazards of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and as a result, has banned the game. Multiple reports show that BGMI illegally sourcing data from outside sources without prior notification or authorization.

In addition, these same reports also claim that Indian servers for the game were in direct communication with their Chinese counterparts. With evidence piling up, BGMI received a ban under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act which is included in the Constitution of India.

Krafton, the game’s developer and publisher in India, released a statement after the ban was announced in July. The business’ official statement emphasized data privacy and security said that they would work with the Indian government to resolve the problem. so that the game may be accessible in India again.

As of now, it’s unclear when or if Battlegrounds Mobile India will be unblocked and made available to gamers in the country. Krafton, on the other hand, has stated that they are currently working on making necessary modifications to ensure that the game is in line with all Indian legislation and regulations.

Following the claims of unauthorized user data collection by Battlegrounds Mobile India, the company has issued a statement denying any wrongdoing. They claim that all information gathered is with explicit permission from users and follows their privacy policy. They also state that they fully compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
