Krafton recently announced that it would temporarily suspend the data transfer service from July 6. But later BGMI postpones Data Transfer from July 6th, 2021 to July 9th, 2021. The data Transfer was postponed by Krafton. In their recent Instagram post, KRAFTON said:
“Dear BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA fans,

Starting date of a temporary shutdown of data transfer previously noticed has been changed from July 6th ➡ to July 9th.
Currently, Krafton is providing a data transfer service in order to safely secure the data of fans from India.⠀
What is Data Transfer?
- Those who have played the PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik (“Prior App”) can transfer their account data to the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (“New App”) and continue playing.
- Data transferred accounts can receive pre-registration rewards.

Maintenance will proceed upon the data transfer service; accordingly, we’d like to inform you that the transfer service will be temporarily shut down during the period indicated as below :

We apologize for the inconvenience of the temporary shutdown of the data transfer. Those who wish to transfer their data, please do so before July 9th.

This is all about BGMI postponing the Data Transfer as Krafton says.
Will Data Transfer in BGMI is Going to Come Back?
Definitely, yes, the data transfer service will only be temporarily shut down as maintenance is going on. But, we recommend you, transfer your data from PUBG Mobile to BGMI as soon as possible if you want to enjoy BGMI now.

When will Data Transfer be Back?
Furthermore, Krafton did not mention any specific date or time from when it plans to resume the data transfer service. We recommend, that it is in your best interest to transfer your PUBG Mobile data to BGMI before July 9. But there are rumors going around that data transfer service will resume in a couple of months as Krafton is doing some maintenance.
