BGMI or BattleGrounds Mobile India was launched on 2nd July 2021 after the government ban on PUBG Mobile. The developer of both PUBG Mobile and BGMI is the Chinese company Krafton Games. BGMI was launched only because Krafton had promised that there will be no relation between the game and Tencent Games, a Chinese game publisher. On 28th July 2022, a sudden storm arose when BGMI was removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The question arises is BGMI Banned in India?

We do not know the answer to it yet. The mysterious removal of the game doesn’t give positive signs either. So there is a possibility of the game being banned soon. Looking back into the ban of PUBG Mobile, the same process had taken place. Firstly the game was removed from the Google Play store and Apple App store, and the later government announced the ban of PUBG Mobile.
What Led BGMI To Be Removed From Stores?
The removal of the game can be linked to an event that took place recently. When an issue related to BGMI was raised in the Rajya Sabha. The members of parliament were discussing whether games like BGMI do have harmful effects on minors. The above discussion started because of recent news “Lucknow teen kills mother for not letting him play games, sits near corpse for 3 days”. This crime was committed in Lucknow last month.
Is BGMI Banned?
We do not know an accurate answer to this as of yet, but we can assume the ban might be around the corner. According to sources, there will be a hearing in court on 29th July 2022. If the Krafton team proves that the game does not promote violence then the game will be back again on the Play Store and Apple App Store.
