Reyna Valorant: The Only Guide You Need

Reyna
Reyna Valorant

Reyna hails from Mexico and fuels her abilities with aggressive play. She collects the Soul Orbs of downed enemies in Valorant and uses them to gain extra health, faster reload speeds, and the power of intangibility.

As a duelist, Reyna thrives on attacking her enemies, and once she gets momentum, she’s hard to stop. On the other hand, most of her abilities are based on her Soul Harvest passive. If she doesn’t get killed, she can’t use most of her abilities. Reyna is meant for players who stay on the offensive and isn’t suitable for sitting back. Her abilities include Leer, Devour, Dismiss, and Empress.

Leer

Reyna’s Leer

Leer is Reyna’s only ability that doesn’t require Soul Orbs. It’s a demonic eye that Reyna throws out, and it acts like a flashbang. Any enemies in its line of sight get short-sighted for a brief time. Unlike Breach’s and Phoenix’s flashes, Leer doesn’t blind your teammates and is perfect for pushing the enemy team. It can also work through walls for an added advantage.

The disadvantage of Leer is that a shot to the eye can stop it. It should be deployed strategically high, low, or in an area away from your team. The enemy will have to adjust their aim to take it down, giving you time to ambush them.

Devour

Devour Reyna
Reyna’s Devour

Devour is one of Reyna’s signature abilities and needs a Soul Orb to work. However, she only has three seconds to consume the orb before it disappears. Once she’s consumed it, Reyna can activate Devour to restore her health and increase her armor. This ability can even overcharge her health to 150 if she already has full health, but it will gradually drop back to 100. If her armor is full, it also gets an added boost.

Devour works quite fast and makes Reyna delayed on the battlefield. While other players are regrouping or assessing the battle, Reyna has full health and can soldier on, taking the fight to the opposing team.

The obvious disadvantage of this ability is that it can only be used after making a kill and consuming a Soul Orb. The other drawback is that it creates a tether between Reyna and the orb. If the line of sight is blocked, the ability won’t work.

Dismiss

Dismiss
Reyna’s Dismiss

Dismiss is another of Reyna’s signature abilities and works well when pushing forward or retreating. This ability also needs a Soul Orb to work. It gives Reyna a burst of speed and makes her intangible for two seconds. At this time, she’s invulnerable to damage, but she also can’t inflict any damage.

Dismiss is perfect for flanking and repositioning and can give you a distinct advantage over the opposing team. It’s also useful for retreating and regrouping. The only disadvantage is that there’s a short delay before you can use your weapon after using this ability.

Empress

Empress
Reyna’s Empress

Empress is Reyna’s Ultimate and turns her into a killing machine for 30 seconds. It requires six orbs to activate, but after that, Reyna’s reload speed, firing, and equip speeds are all increased by 20%. Enemy players are also highlighted for easy targeting. If you get a kill during its duration, the timer is reset, and you get more time to obliterate the enemy squad.

Any kills during Empress will also induce the health generation of Devour to make you even more formidable. Reyna’s Empress is probably one of the strongest Ultimates in VALORANT because it can last for a long time if she makes kills and can be combined with her other abilities.

Tactics

Reyna thrives on 1v1 battles. Once she wins, she can use the Soul Orb to regenerate health, then move on to the next fight. In 1v2 encounters, she can also kill the first enemy, then use Dismiss to reposition for the next enemy.

One of Reyna’s biggest advantages is that she can use Dismiss while Empress is activated. Reyna then becomes invisible and invincible for four seconds. This allows her to confuse and disrupt the opposing team.

Reyna only works well if you are aggressive and get the required skills to use her abilities. It means she’s more suited to advanced players and is better at attacking than defending. In the right hands, she’s an army of one who can wipe out an entire squad.
