Genshin Impact’s Version 2.5 officially released just a few days ago. Along with it, the beta testing for Version 2.6 also began. The beta isn’t public, so all the information about new content coming to Genshin is from leaks. The next update is major. It brings a whole new region, The Chasm, with it. Kamisato Ayato, a long-term fan favourite, will also be added to the game’s 5 star character roster.

Aside from the new region and character, another major addition to Genshin in 2.6 is new artifact sets – ‘Vermillion Hereafter‘ and ‘Echoes of an Offering.’ The last time HoYoverse devs introduced new artifacts was in Version 2.3. Itto’s ‘Husk of Opulent Dreams’ and Kokomi’s ‘Ocean-Hued Claim’ brought new types of scaling into the meta. However, the new sets in Version 2.6 go back to the raw ATK scaling roots of the game.

Artifact Set 1: Vermillion Hereafter

Vermillion Hereafter
  • 2pc: ATK +18%
  • 4pc: After using an Elemental Burst, the character will gain a buff, increasing their ATK by 8% for 16s. When the character loses HP, Their ATK will further increase by 10%. This increase can occur up to once every 0.8s, max 4 stacks.

Judging by its passives, this set was made for Xiao. Xiao hasn’t really been given a specific set in-game yet. His most common build is typically just a 2pc Gladiators + 2pc Viridescent Venerer. Since Xiao’s Elemental Burst consumes HP to boost DMG, the 4pc ATK increase that this set provides will be most effective then.

This set is also fairly compatible with Hu Tao, since her Elemental Skill consumes HP to convert attack DMG to pyro DMG.

Artifact Set 2: Echoes of an Offering

Echoes of an Offering
  • 2pc: ATK +18%
  • 4pc: Normal Attack (NA) has a 36% chance to proc (once every 0.3s) a buff that boosts NA DMG by 60% of ATK. The buff expires 0.05s after the next NA that deals DMG. If a NA doesn’t proc the buff, the next NA will be 20% more likely to proc it.

Since Ayato will be released in 2.6, this set was made to bring out the best in his talents. Ayato heavily relies on Normal Attacks to deal DMG as they are the only type of attacks he can use while his Elemental Skill is active. In case you’re pre-farming other artifact sets already in-game for him, don’t waste your resin! It’s highly likely that this new set will be his best in-slot, so save your resin for when it releases.

This set will also work really well with characters like Childe and Yoimiya, who mainly use Normal Attacks to deal DMG too. But we’ll only know whether or not it’ll be a better fit for them than their current sets when it releases in-game.

You’ll be able to farm both these artifact sets via a new domain in Inazuma that you can unlock in 2.6. The details about the location of the domain and its mobs aren’t clear yet, so make sure to check back here for updates!
