Valorant Ares Meta: Why You Should Try it?

Valorant Ares Meta: Valorant Episode 4 Disruption is here after so much hype and speculations. And the hero this time around is not the one we were expecting. The fast-paced lightning-charged duelist from Manila is impressive but hardly, when it comes to the redemption of the Ares. The recent buff has proven why the LMG is named after the God of War. Since the beginning of Episode 4 Act 1, the gun is been wreaking havoc in lobbies, higher and lower alike. The gun literally beams, making a lot of players and pros think it is overpowered and unbalanced.

What is the Ares Meta?

To understand that, we need to know what are the changes that Valorant made to Ares in Episode 4 Act 1:

  • Removed spin up
  • Firing rate increased from 10 >>> 13

Now, this might not sound like a lot but currently, the Ares not only outdoes its direct price-competitor, specter, which itself received a nerf, the Ares also gives the Vandal and Phantom a run for their money. Before the META was Pistol round > Specter Eco round, if you win > then upgrade to rifles for rest of the game, if the economy allows.

But now it seems like regardless of winning or losing the first round, players tend to buy the Ares in the second round and then stick with it till the last. The reason for this is that the gun has an insanely short time to kill with absolutely zero to no recoil. You can get easy frags from anywhere between short to long-range, making it a low-skill weapon to use. This makes buying rifles seem like an extravagant waste of money. At 1550 credits, the Ares is really a bargain. Additionally, you get a 50 round magazine, paired with high wall penetration, making wall bangs so much easier and effective.

Why you should you get into the Valorant Ares Meta?

Twitter is raging with players and pros, that share the purist view about how LMG spamming is a sin, and turning it into the META takes a lot of fun for some people, as there is no reward for you having better skills like consistent crosshair placement, jiggle-peeking, or mastering recoil control, and we agree for the most part.

But until Riot decides to change the preceding or nerf the God of War titled Weapon, you have three choices:

  1. To rage every time you face an Ares 5 stack, which surprisingly happened to us a lot this past week.
  2. Stop playing.
  3. Or, become the same thing you swore to destroy, since META literally means, Most Effective Techniques Available, you’ll make your competitive games easier for yourself.
